A Modern Aqua Handleless Kitchen in Greenhill, Sheffield
When this client began extending their home in Greenhill, Sheffield, they knew they wanted their new kitchen space to become the heart of family life. Their existing kitchen lacked storage, suffered from a poor layout and simply didn’t provide the practical, sociable environment they needed for modern living.
Working with German Kitchen Outlet Sheffield, the couple transformed their space into a stunning open-plan German kitchen featuring bold aqua cabinetry, a large island and carefully considered family-friendly design features that perfectly balance style and practicality.
Creating a Light, Open Family Kitchen
Located in Greenhill, on the south side of Sheffield near Woodseats, Norton and Graves Park, this project formed part of a larger rear extension designed to completely improve how the family used their home.
The homeowners wanted a modern, light and airy handleless kitchen that would look beautiful while also functioning effortlessly for everyday family life.
Their original kitchen felt restrictive and lacked the storage and flow needed for cooking, entertaining and spending time together as a family. By redesigning the entire layout, we were able to create a spacious and highly functional kitchen centred around a large island and open-plan living space.
A Bold Yet Elegant German Kitchen Design
For this Sheffield kitchen project, we implemented the stunning Nobilia Touch range in the striking Aqua finish.
The bold aqua cabinetry creates a real statement while still keeping the space feeling bright, fresh and welcoming. Paired with slimline Concrete Sand laminate worktops and a matching splashback, the result is a contemporary kitchen that feels warm, modern and sophisticated.
The clean handleless design helps maintain a streamlined aesthetic throughout the room, while the open shelving introduces softer styling opportunities with plants, accessories and family photographs. Large corner windows flood the room with natural light, enhancing the sense of openness and helping the colour palette really come to life.
Designed Around Modern Family Living
One of the standout features of this modern Sheffield kitchen is the large central island and breakfast bar.
The island creates a practical workflow that allows family members to move around the kitchen easily without interrupting whoever is cooking. At the same time, the breakfast bar provides a relaxed social space where children can complete homework or friends and family can sit and chat while meals are being prepared. Every aspect of the design was carefully planned around the realities of busy family life.

To complement the sleek German kitchen design, the project features a range of premium appliances and practical storage upgrades, including:

- Bosch induction hob with integrated extractor
- Schock 1.5 bowl black inset sink

- Large drawer storage solutions
- Integrated internal bins
The homeowners specifically wanted warm ambient lighting to create a welcoming atmosphere in the evening, helping the kitchen feel cosy as well as practical.
The layout of the island drawers was also carefully considered. By positioning storage accessibly around the island, family members can still reach essentials like cutlery while somebody is cooking! Integrated internal bins help keep the kitchen visually clean and uncluttered, eliminating the need for freestanding bins and maintaining the minimalist aesthetic.
